The Affordable Care Act (ACA) bill was passed in 2010 with the primary goal of providing Americans access to more affordable healthcare coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace website. • Doctor Visits
  • Preventive and Wellness Services
  • Pediatric Services
  • Hospital Stays
  • Emergency Services
  • Pediatric Services
  • Maternity and Newborn Care

Pre-existing conditions can no longer prevent you from getting coverage as well. And depending on your income, you could qualify for health insurance with enough tax credits that you end up paying no out-of-pocket expenses for complete coverage.

How to Determine if You are Eligible for Coverage

There are several factors that determine if you are eligible for Obamacare and how much you can receive in subsidies to offset the cost. Your age, income, family size, and where you live all help determine this.

Let’s start with income. If you live in Delray Beach your income must be between 138% to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). If you make less than 138% of the FPL, you may still qualify to receive coverage through Medicaid and CHIP programs. If you make more than 400% of the FPL, we can help you find a to fit your needs.

To help put things in perspective, let’s come up with an example. A single individual working as a housekeeper at the Seagate Hotel on Atlantic Ave. would have their FPL set at $13,590. This means they can earn anywhere between $18,754.20 and $54,360 to qualify for subsidies.

Income is not the only thing that determines if you are eligible for ACA health insurance. Other determining factors include:

  • You must be a US citizen or legal resident
  • Non-US citizens with work or student visas are included
  • Cuban and Haitian entrants are eligible
  • You must be living in the US
  • You cannot be incarcerated at the time of your application

Let our team of licensed and certified agents help you navigate through the application process and find the perfect ACA health insurance plan. We will listen to your needs and answer any questions you have at no cost to you! Call Delray Beach Health Insurance at (561) 376.5673 or click here.
